Man, it feels good to type this: Claudio Castagnoli is ROH World Champion, and he should be for a very long time. This was another solid call after Gresham's 224-day reign. AEW boss Khan had to start this new ROH era off with something notable, and Claudio clutching the brand's biggest prize was the ideal way to go about that.

Yes, Jonathan carried the belt with distinction during ROH's downtime (and did so across multiple promotions), but Castagnoli is the big star that the title needs right now. It was so, so, so sweet to see William Regal looking on like a proud father afterwards too.

Moments like this one vindicate the former Cesaro's decision to leave WWE behind in February. Now, the next challenge will be ensuring that Castagnoli uses his title win as a springboard to even more greatness on AEW's main shows.
