7 Ups & 2 Downs From ROH Death Before Dishonor 2022

Downs...

2. They Couldn’t Overcome Sh*t Build

First, only two downers.

AEW's on/off tag-team partner storyline between Mercedes Martinez and Serena Deeb knackered the pair's build towards this ROH Women's Title match. Both went for an epic feel, and they definitely worked hard, but things fell a tad flat when it mattered most.

Honestly, you'll see better than this elsewhere. Length doesn't automatically = greatness (more on that later). Some fans might not agree with that analysis, which is fine, and it's cool if you enjoyed this one - however, the main meat of the bout did little for this guy.

The middle section, which is always crucial, was rather boring in parts. Fans also struggled to stay invested throughout, and they seemed happier that the match was over rather than truly leaping out of their seats for the finish. Again, Martinez and Deeb worked hard, but this was defo one of the weaker outings on show.
