Being frank, Daniel Garcia couldn't really win the ROH Pure Title without AEW then killing off the strap on Dynamite or Rampage. The JAS member made it clear that he planned to trash the thing if he was able to prize it from Wheeler Yuta on Saturday night.

It's a good thing that Yuta retained, because the belt suits William Regal's Blackpool Combat Club better and gives Wheeler some credibility. On that, Regal made it clear via guest commentary that he didn't want to see the Club's youngest member use any rope breaks during his title defence - what a fun sub-story this was.

Speaking of which, having Josh Woods (the man Wheeler beat for the Pure Title) as one of the judges added yet more intrigue to the bout. The entire package, from Regal on comms to Woods keeping an eye on things, was sensationally presented.
