7 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE SmackDown: Happy New Year (Dec 30)

6. Don’t Mess With A Hot Scot!

Drew McIntyre

YASSSS!

That (distinctly-Scottish) outburst of joy is deserved here, because Friday marked the first proper sighting of one Drew McIntyre since Survivor Series: War Games. The big man looked fired up, which always reaps rewards. Drew really does bring a sweet intensity to him for those babyface save spots.

Better yet, WWE can finally pull the trigger on that elusive McIntyre/Sheamus vs. The Usos Undisputed Tag Title scorcher that was supposed to happen in early-December before injuries altered plans. Bring it on - that quartet will smash into one another, and they could produce an early contender for match of 2023.

There's just something that feels so right about a p*ssed off Drew coming out to hammer through heels with his Claymore Kicks. Fans popped for his music, then popped harder when he flattened everyone in sight and posed with The Brawling Brutes.
