7 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE SmackDown (June 18)

2. The Giving Champion

Rey Mysterio Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns couldn't have done more to make Rey Mysterio look like a threat during the main event. He let Rey do his vengeful father bit by ramming his throat into the Cell and ring post, and the champ was willing to play ball on some other superb hope spots that added so much to the overall narrative.

The outcome was never in doubt, but Rey looked excellent here.

This fan refuses to put anybody above Roman on the pro wrestling map right now. He's the best champion this industry currently has - his blend of star power, presence, verbal skills, match quality and more are unmatched. That's sensational to say when somebody as talented as Kenny Omega is also World Champ elsewhere.

Despite those TV ad breaks also undoubtedly hurting the flow of a HIAC encounter, this was damn good from first minute to last. WWE could've popped this on the pay-per-view card this weekend and nobody would've left disappointed.

Now, it'll be cool to see what's next for Reigns.
