7 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE SmackDown (May 7)
2. That Opener
The match he introduced was also killer.
Seth Rollins and Cesaro could out-work most pro wrestlers in their sleep. That comes with a slight element of risk though, 'cause they could phone it in and still put on a decent display, but that was never going to happen; both guys had their working boots on and opened the show expertly.
Their in-ring work was slick, almost mesmerising at times. Then, to top it all off, Rollins' ego cost him when he shoved Jey Uso and took a superkick from the returning Jimmy for his troubles. Smartly, WWE then let Cesaro pick Seth off with his Neutraliser for a popular win that earns him a Universal Title chance.
These lads told a really good story here, and Rollins now has a nice sub-plot going on with The Usos that'll come back up in coming weeks. Leeching off Cesaro's feud with Roman isn't the worst thing Rollins could be doing right now.
