7 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Sept 4)

Fingers crossed Sasha Banks is out until the Royal Rumble.

That's far-fetched in a world that chews up content like WWE does, but it'd give her eventual showdown with Bayley a fighting chance of taking place at WrestleMania 37. Anyone who has watched them pull the nose up on an on/off 'frenemies' storyline that's been ongoing for years could tell you they've earned that.

Bayley's vicious steel chair stomp was suitably violent enough that Banks could believably take some extended time off and then return for revenge when the time is right. WWE can ride this all the way to 'Mania season if they really stop to think about it.

The way Bayley and Sasha have layered their story with little dropped hints here and there has been a thing of beauty. SmackDown's pre-match promo also set the scene for Bayley's treachery by having Banks come back around on the importance of their friendship.

Great stuff.
