7 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE Raw (24 Feb - Results & Review)

Women's Tag Team Title match steals the show on WWE Raw.

Less than eight weeks from WrestleMania and just days before Elimination Chamber, WWE turned in an episode of Raw Monday night that was both really good and lacking in some areas.

If someone said a month ago that Jey Uso vs. Gunther would be a hot ticket while Cody Rhodes’ direction at 'Mania remains unclear, that person would be roundly mocked. However, Gunther managed to further his feud with Royal Rumble winner Jey by picking a fight with… Akira Tozawa? And it worked extraordinarily well.

The highlight of the show has to be the Women’s Tag Team Championship match, which was the best match on a show that featured some really solid in-ring action. Bron Breakker wrecked the Judgment Day, while the New Day continued to take strides as a heel act.

Cody attempted to make a bit of sense of The Rock’s promo from SmackDown and succeeded, to a degree, and Sami Zayn really sold his unsanctioned match against Kevin Owens this weekend.

The biggest criticism has to be that while a lot of Raw is building either to WrestleMania or Elimination Chamber, or to 'Mania through Elimination Chamber, there still seems to be a lot up in the air at this stage. That could rapidly change, but it’s worth noting as the market leader draws closer to its signature event.

Let’s get to it…
