3. Let The Best Friends Feud Begin

Sami Zayn has been nothing short of a great friend to everyone in recent months. He bailed out Roman Reigns and the rest of the OG Bloodline last fall at Survivor Series. He forgave Jey Uso for kicking him out of the Royal Rumble, instead congratulating him on the win. And he accepted CM Punk’s show of respect after Punk had denigrated his ability in the ring.

But Sami’s efforts to be a friend to Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes ultimately led to his undoing on Monday night. During the Rumble PLE, Zayn ran to ringside to check on Rhodes and Owens after both hit their heads pretty hard on a ladder bridge in their Undisputed WWE Championship match. Sami showed equal care for both men, trying to stay out of things but ultimately consoling and helping KO after he had been Alabama Slammed through a ladder.

However, Owens clearly did not take Sami’s aid and comfort well, because he jumped Zayn after his match with Punk, laying him out with a package piledriver. The attack touches off a feud that could very easily become a white-hot one as the weeks progress.

For now though, the ball is in the court of the powder keg that is Kevin Owens.
