4. Really Good Match, Cheap Finish

Iyo Sky and Liv Morgan put in a full night’s work at the Royal Rumble this past weekend, entering at #1 and #2, respectively, and lasting more than 66 minutes each. They then turned around Monday night and delivered a pretty solid singles bout on Raw.

The two battled for a spot in the women’s Elimination Chamber match next month, see-sawing back and forth, countering each other and cutting off their attacks along the way. Liv capitalized on a missed Iyo Bullet Train Attack, hitting her with a backstabber. She also benefited from Raquel Rodriguez at ringside, saving her from an Over-the-Moonsault twice before Rhea Ripley ran down to get revenge and even the odds.

However, Liv attacked Ripley, who instinctively punched Morgan, which was enough to trigger a disqualification. It was a pretty cheap finish, but it also lent itself to how Liv and the Judgment Day operates, and it added tension between Iyo and Rhea, just as they were coming together backstage.

There’s a possibility that this DQ finish factors into a development down the line that still leads to Sky facing Ripley at WrestleMania. Giving WWE some latitude, this could be a really positive deal overall. For now, call it intriguing.
