7 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Oct 13 - Results & Review)

4. The Electricity!

John Cena LA Knight Roman Reigns Paul Heyman

Well bloody hell, what a fab opening segment that was.

John Cena, Roman Reigns, the rest of The Bloodline gang and LA Knight played their roles to perfection. Knight is over, and he looked like he belonged in there opposite Roman. That shouldn't be overlooked - looking like a star under the same bright lights as the top boy is huge for LA's career.

The opening promo train achieved four things. Firstly, it allowed Cena to bow out of a rumoured match vs. Reigns at Crown Jewel. Second, it let him put Knight forward as the kind of full-timer who has earned such an opportunity. Third, the segment setup LA vs. Solo Sikoa for later. Lastly, Jimmy Uso got on Roman's nipple ends by ambushing without permission.

That, dear readers, is one slick and well-produced opening quarter hour. Fans were electric throughout, LA Knight looked every inch the must see rising star, Cena added heavyweight star power himself, and Roman returned as his elitist best.
