3. Rick Boogs’ Injury

Michael Cole reported after the fact that Rick Boogs had suffered a nasty knee injury, and that appears to be legit. It's one that will require surgery, and it cut short 'Mania 38's opening match. That's a bit of double whammy for Boogs - not only did he suffer physical pain, but the big man missed out on a proper WrestleMania debut match.

You've got to feel bad for the guy.

It's nobody's fault, because these things happen, but this was a miserable kickoff point for the card. Fans in Dallas obviously knew something was up when The Usos double-teamed Shinsuke Nakamura to retain their SmackDown Tag-Team Titles. The finish was understandably rushed.

This doesn't get a 'Down' because of bad booking, or anything like that. Nah, it's here 'cause everyone wants 'Mania to start with a bang. Sadly, the only bang/pop Rick Boogs heard was his knee giving way midway through the match.
