7 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE WrestleMania 38 (Night 1)

2. Not ‘Mania Worthy

Both Drew McIntyre and Happy Corbin were right up against it after working a never-ending feud full of ponderous creative missteps. The latest came on Friday's SmackDown when Corbin, for some reason, made a joke about Drew's deceased mother. That was cheap, and came a little too late anyway.

Honestly? The final few mins of this match are all you need to see from it. The bout never came across as one worthy of WrestleMania's main card, and that's a real shame considering the fact that McIntyre often carried WWE through the pandemic days. He really, really deserved better than this afterthought.

Better days are ahead, at least.

WWE will surely reward Drew with something mega after putting him through this interminable storyline with the Happy Folks. As for Corbin and Madcap Moss? Well, it looks like they're heading for 'Splitsville' over the next few weeks.
