7 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dark (Oct 6)

1. Lucha Brothers vs. Joey Janela & Sonny Kiss

Rey Fenix Joey Janela

Eddie Kingston cut a fire promo earlier in the night, spitting at Joey Janela and Sonny Kiss for taking pro-wrestling as a joke, telling them to stay at their level. Janela's response? "Like Sonny's ass, we're bouncing back." 'The Bad Boy' remains excellent value.

The match itself was comfortably the best thing on the show. Though it suffered from a couple of mistimed moments, these weren't enough to derail a clash that began with the babyfaces fired up and diving on the Lucha Brothers. An extended torture session then commenced, with the Lucha Brothers shutting the babyfaces down, as Pentagon got extra spicy with Janela. Kiss then scored his obligatory high-octane hot tag and scored a good near-fall with a 450 splash, though a series of quick closing exchanges ended with the Package Piledriver/Stomp combination for the Lucha Brothers' win.

A good tag bout by any show's standards, this was the kind of match Dark could use more than one of every week.
