7 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Mar 24)

3. Where Is Captain Charisma?

Christian Cage
AEW

Though it ended with AEW thankfully putting Christian Cage's first match together, last night brought another drab, formulaic backstage segment from the legend, who is dangerously close to falling into the same trap as Edge on SmackDown.

Cage vs. Frankie Kazarian should be good. Two experienced craftsmen with great minds for the business, who know each other well from their shared time in TNA, they'll create something meaningful next week. Kaz has some character interesting stuff going on, too: he was as bristly here with Christian as he has been with his own tag partner, Christopher Daniels, lately.

The problem is Captain Charisma. Where is that charisma? He's playing things straight at the moment and the output feels drab above all else. It's too early to write him off, definitely, but Christian's colourful personality is one of the main reasons for his huge following, so let's see him flexing it on Dynamite.
