7 Ups & 4 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling (6 May)

Moose had to advance to Under Siege. There was no need for James Storm to be in the match.

What made ‘The Cowboy’s qualifier vs. Moose far better, though, is that Moose destroyed the ankle of Storm. The former TNA World Heavyweight Champion didn’t just stomp on the ankle, either; he was going all in. Between dropkicking the ankle, slamming it against the ropes, and cinching in a single-leg Boston crab, Moose found a way to send Kenny Omega a message at the expense of the tag team specialist.

It meant James had to rethink his game plan. He couldn’t hit the Eye of the Storm because it meant lifting Moose off the ground. He attempted to, but he failed. His leg buckled. A Last Call superkick connected, but Storm was too late in going for the pinfall, resulting in him eating a Lights Out as Moose moved on.

A solid main event here. Moose stomping on Storm’s ankle post-match while it was trapped in a chair was great, too; it was required evidence in showing that Moose is still a beast. His contract is up in June, so if he really is leaving IMPACT, they’re doing a grand job of booking him on his way out.
