7 Ups & 4 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling (6 May)

2. Not Just A Catchphrase

When you see how W. Morrissey has been presented thus far in IMPACT Wrestling, you struggle to comprehend how WWE missed the boat on a successful heel Big Cass.

The former NXT standout spoke of how he was far more than just one half of a catchphrase, and how we as fans turned our backs on him when he caved in to the pressure. This was a fair point, considering not many were clamouring for a full-time Big Cass return post-WWE release. His one-off appearance at ROH and New Japan’s Madison Square Garden event went down to a p*ss-poor reception, for example.

Instead, Morrissey had to rebuild himself before showing his face again. He blames the fans for what he’s now set out to do to every member of not only the IMPACT roster, but rather the professional wrestling community as a whole. He ended this by accepting Willie Mack’s challenge for Under Siege.

This deserves two Ups, really; one for W. Morrissey’s incredible delivery, and the other for IMPACT’s production team. They continue to produce stellar video packages. Their presentation of Morrissey is legitimately some of their greatest work in the last five years. Superb stuff.
