7 Ups & 4 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Mar 24)

2. Terrible

Willie Mack is a phenomenal in-ring talent, there's no denying that. However, his promo skills could be worked on. His work backstage with Ace Austin this week was near enough the equivalent of Kalisto's infamous 'Lucha Things' promo.

As 'The One True Ace' walked up to his new challenger with Reno Scum in tow, the X Division Champion attempted to give a compliment to 'Chocolate Thunder', something that Mack didn't appreciate as he realises exactly what type of person Austin truly is. First off, some good work from Mack in that he's not going to fall for Ace's mind games. Then, things turned sour.

Mack claimed that he was going to take the championship from Ace (a fairly basic claim to make, of course he'll be thinking that), then made some mistakes from there, noting that he faced The North - a two-man combination remember - 'one on one'. To end things on the worst note possible, Johnny Swinger appeared at the end, hoping Willie wins the title so we can get The Mack'n'Pack Connection colliding for the X Division Championship. Le sigh.

In fairness, these could be classed as extremely minor comments, but if we didn't take everything and nitpick it, then these columns would be pointless. A soft Down for Willie Mack.
