6. Stratton Loses Her Cool

Normally, baiting and switching on a match would be a big no-no, but when it makes sense in context, it can get a pass.

Tiffany Stratton was furious last week when Fallon Henley dressed up as her and did a pretty spot-on impression of the former NXT Women’s Champion. So Tuesday night, when the impersonation was brought up again, Stratton blew up and stormed off.

She stormed right down the entrance ramp and attacked Henley as she made her way to the ring, battering Fallon before putting her in a ringpost Figure Four, ala Bret “Hitman” Hart. It was later reported that Henley wasn’t cleared to compete and the match was off.

Stratton has always had to overcome the typecasting and belief that she’s not serious, despite how gifted she already is in the ring. Having her lose her composure and beat up an opponent for a perceived slight was a good way to remind fans that she has a vicious side and isn’t just pink sparkles and “toodles.”

They won’t get away with doing this a bunch, and it wasn’t some great character development, but on a packed show, this shortcut worked just as well as having a seven-minute back-and-forth match.
