7 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE NXT 2.0: Halloween Havoc 2021

2. Odyssey Over?

Uh oh.

Odyssey Jones was working dark matches before Raw and SmackDown a few months back. That suggested Vince McMahon was interested in drafting him up to the flagship shows. Apparently not, because Jones just got beat twice in a row by Roderick Strong.

WWE worked almost exactly the same finish here that they did between both guys on 205 Live a few weeks back. Also, losing so emphatically to Strong doesn't do much for Odyssey; this was another short, TV-style match that added bugger all to Havoc. What was the point of sticking it in there amongst some real gems?

Jones continues to look directionless and unconvincing during this feud with Strong, Malcolm Bivens and their Diamond Mine. They're hardly a top stable, and yet Odyssey looks second rate compared to them. That's not a good thing.
