3. The Dreaded Surprise Rollup

WWE Raw R-Truth Pete Dunne

If you’re looking for one of WWE’s dumber “comedy” storylines in recent memory, look no further than R-Truth still calling Pete Dunne “Butch”.

The joke of Sheamus using Dunne’s former moniker to get under his skin has long since stopped being amusing, and even the Celtic Warrior has moved on, no doubt sensing that the gag is played out.

Enter, R-Truth.

Truth has been solely focused on confusing the two names, often to Dunne’s consternation, so this naturally boiled over into a match on Monday night. Pete jawed with fans, further instigating them to call him Butch, which led him to argue more… and allowed Truth to hit his one offensive move, the surprise rollup, for the pin.

In reality, Dunne is little more than a warm body on Raw these days, but it really is insane to realize he was more of a threat and a serious wrestler when he was Sheamus’ renamed little buddy and rabid pet dog. “Pete Dunne” on the main roster is a goof who exists to get a handful of fans to call him by the wrong name.
