4. Finn Gets What He Wants
Ever since ousting Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley from the Judgment Day, Finn Balor has been scheming. The Judgment Day drama is tired and honestly played out, but the Prince found a better focus on Monday night.
Balor approached Gunther for a World Heavyweight Championship match, claiming credit for his two title defenses against Damian Priest. Gunther laughed off the challenge and instead offered Dominik Mysterio a match because Dirty Dom had actually beaten Priest previously. That only served to enrage Finn, who got his revenge after that match.
Finn attacked Gunther, leveling him and delivering three Coup de Graces while taunting Dom to “watch and learn”. The notion that Balor is trying to lead the leaderless Judgment Day by example is pretty funny, actually.
Backstage, Balor got his world title match for Saturday Night’s Main Event, thanks to pissing Gunther off enough to get the Ring General to demand the match-up. Good setup for a match that should be really fun with situational babyface Gunther, as Finn continues to sink his teeth into being a prick.
