7 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE Raw (Aug 15)

3. Riddle Returns With A Vengeance

Fans who have grown accustomed to Riddle being all about bad stoner jokes and acting like a goof might be confused by the new version of the Original Bro who showed up Monday night, but it was a very welcome development.

Riddle announced that he was medically cleared after suffering multiple beat-downs from Seth Rollins before and during SummerSlam. But to Rollins’ surprise, Riddle wasn’t being interviewed “from his mom’s basement,” but rather was just backstage and rushed to ringside to attack Seth and ultimately chase him off.

The more serious, no-nonsense Riddle then challenged Rollins for a match at Clash at the Castle, setting this feud up for its delayed one-on-one match. A more serious, focused Riddle can still have a laid-back vibe when appropriate, but seeing him shed the childish, goofy persona is a definite plus… and the fans reacted strongly to that.
