7 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE Raw (Aug 15)

Downs…

4. Gang Up On Rey Day

The Judgment Day Rey Mysteiro

You can appreciate that WWE is trying to make Judgment Day a thing, but it’s really tough to take them seriously as a trio that says they “run Monday Night Raw” when they can barely stop an already-injured Rey Mysterio.

Finn Balor, Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest cut their Heel 101 promo to open Raw as the crowd went mild, but Rey thankfully attacked. Ripley confronted him, and he naturally hesitated, but Mysterio countered Finn’s attack with a chair and overpowered Balor and Priest with it. Only when Rhea interjected did the trio regain control, finally putting Rey down.

Watching a trio that is supposed to be considered a danger to the returning Edge next week, it’s hard to take them seriously after scenes like this. Even the “we run Raw” line was laughable, when you consider that the only people Judgment Day has attacked or even interacted with since booting Edge has been the Mysterios… and they haven’t been able to keep them down.

Short of Priest vanquishing Edge next week, one can only hope Judgment Day is being put out to pasture or something drastic changes, because it sure doesn’t look like we’re looking at a significant heel stable here.
