4. Women’s Tag Is An Unexpected Treat

Jade Cargill Tiffany Stratton

The pre-amble heading into this match ranged between interesting (Rhea and Charlotte teasing a title match), nondescript (Tiffany doing the same with Ripley) and boring (Jade, Michin and B-FAB sticking their noses in). Thankfully, the actual match itself was really well worked and gave everyone involved in it some room to shine brightly.

Charlotte as a babyface has been fantastic to date, and she worked well with Tiffany here. There was a time when the thought of this pair as partners seemed inconceivable, but they've squashed whatever backstage heat they had following their feud last year and everyone's happy to move on. Teaming with Flair gave Stratton her biggest spotlight for a while.

Further, Cargill scoring the win keeps some heat on her, at least; there isn’t much call for her coming after Rhea Ripley again though, so it’s anyone’s guess what Triple H does with Jade for the rest of the summer. It'd be brave to go back to Cargill vs. Stratton again considering that sucked wind between the ropes last year. Instead, Jade and her 'Baddies' should find something else to do.

Jumping over to Raw might not be the worst thing for them. At least then Sol Ruca could get some reps in against someone experienced like Michin before tangling with Cargill for the Women's Intercontinental Title. Just a thought.

Tidy tag matches will always go over well if they're backed by an invested live crowd (Bologna loved seeing Charlotte and Tiffy team up) and have a nice pace to them. This was one of the best matches on the entire show.
