7 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE WrestleMania X

1. Cancelled Trash

Randy Savage was said to be infuriated with Razor Ramon and Shawn Michaels after their legendary ladder match (more on that later) going long resulted in 10 wrestlers losing their WrestleMania payday. The above Raw payoff smoothed the situation over the fans at least.

Based on the skirmish two weeks removed from the Madison Square Garden cancellation, the contest was designed with the lengthy ladder war in mind - little of it mattered and The 1-2-3 Kid took the fall in order for IRS (the least over of all the heels) to steal some cheap heat.

It may have been needless filler had it gone ahead, but Savage's searing annoyance skews fan sentiment - in a time of terrible paydays, the loss experienced by the performers takes precedence. Parading around with Bret Hart at the end of the evening almost certainly won't have made up for the earner they were expecting.
