7 Ups & 5 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling Homecoming 2021

1. Alexander Vs. Taurus Delivers, Unsurprisingly

Josh Alexander is legitimately in the running to be IMPACT's 2021 Wrestler Of The Year with the run he's on. Facing Black Taurus was merely another dot on his impeccable record for the year, with the duo producing a banger of an X Division Championship match that encompassed the entire spectrum of the title.

They showed glimmers of a vast array of different styles, too; one minute, you had Taurus flying through the ropes with a nice dive, and the next you had Alexander hitting a top-rope Finlay Roll. The match progressed greatly because of this. They showed they could adapt to any style, and instead rolled them all into one, with Alexander hitting a rare Moonsault at one point which saw your writer throw his hands in the air. Josh retained his title with a brutal C4Spike, directly dropping Black Taurus on his head.

Everything clicked here. There wasn't a single story to it, other than Josh being a fighting champion and Scott D'Amore handing him Taurus for Homecoming. Not even championship matches require a story to produce the right atmosphere, as was proven here. Alexander can make any opponent work in this run he's currently on.

IMPACT cannot screw this up. Keep up these bangers and you're on the right path.
