7 Ups & 5 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling Under Siege 2021

5. New Challengers

A slow start and overall dull atmosphere for the first half rendered this match a Down until the last few minutes of the bout.

This easily could have been a stand-out portion for the X Division guys. After all, this was only made because the five losers from the X Division Championship contendership scramble wanted to go for the tag titles. Instead, though, it was a stand-out moment for the big beefy boys.

Madman Fulton looked like a genuine threat throughout, as did Shera, booting fools every few minutes. XXXL were the real stars, though; between flattening Rohit Raju between their meat and hitting Ace Austin with a Demolition Decapitation variant, Acey Romero and Larry D looked as great here as they ever have in IMPACT.

Pushing Austin and Fulton into the number one contender’s spot is exactly where they need to be, too. Their spot in the four-way title bout at Bound For Glory had them feeling a touch out of place. Here, though, they feel right at home. It helped that they destroyed Larry D to win. Fulton’s End of Days rip off was followed by an assisted splash because he’s a bigger lad. They needed to go the extra mile to pin him. A nice touch.
