7 Ups & 5 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling Under Siege 2021
6. And Another One
The beauty of Deonna Purrazzo and Havok’s Knockouts Championship outing is that it was between two vastly different professional wrestlers. For every moment Purrazzo focused on Havok’s arm, the challenger had an answer in the form of a knee to the jaw.
Seriously, though, that knee to Deonna late in the match should have knocked ‘The Virtuosa’ out. That’s a move one uses to win a championship.
Havok dominated the defending champion at various points throughout the match to the extent it felt as if we were legitimately going to crown a new champion. There was no way Deonna was losing the title on an IMPACT Plus special, we thought going into the event. It was genuinely possible; Havok was making us believe. The way she handled Purrazzo like a ragdoll is a testament to her skills.
A Fujiwara Armbar cemented another successful defence for Purrazzo, as it was always going to be, but Havok still looked strong in defeat. She hadn’t simply shared a ring with Deonna, but rather she had posed as a proper threat to her second run as Knockouts Champion. She desperately needed that following the needless disbanding of her team with Nevaeh and the subsequent rushed rivalry.
