4. The Viper To Return

Raw’s main event was really a foregone conclusion. Heels should almost always have the advantage in WarGames, so Drew McIntyre defeating Jey Uso made perfect sense. The two had a perfectly good little match.

It really was about what came next, with the reveal of the fifth man for the babyface team to take on McIntyre and the Judgment Day. The rumors had been swirling for quite some time, and rather than trying to swerve everyone, they just went and connected the dots, with Cody Rhodes declaring it was someone he had a legacy with, all but naming Randy Orton as the fifth man.

Orton’s return is a huge deal for WWE and for Randy himself, as he’s been out of action since May 2022. It’s unclear how well Randy has healed from his injuries, but he adds star power to the roster and a presence for the PLE. If anything, Orton becomes an intriguing talking point heading into Survivor Series and then beyond.

Also, it was good that WWE decided to quiet the CM Punk rumor mill a bit by filling that spot now rather than leaving it an open question until the night of the event.
