5. Working Hard To Get The Crowd

Give some credit to the eight women in the four-way tag team match to determine new tag title contenders – they put in the work Monday night to win over the audience and suck them into the bout.

Four-way matches like these – particularly one like this that includes a lot of wrestlers who haven’t had a lot of quality screentime – could easily die out there, but they pulled the fans into the drama and action. A lot of credit has to go to Katana Chance and Kayden Carter, whose tandem offense really opened some eyes, evidenced by the crowd reaction.

Maxxine Dupri also was another focal point, as fans are still into her character arc as a full-fledged member of Alpha Academy, going from a manager with no in-ring experience to someone successfully aping moves from Chad Gable and Otis. She and Ivy Nile made for an interesting pairing.

With fans behind those two teams, it was the natural decision to have Natalya and Tegan Nox get the win and the title show. You know, go with the duo that got zero reaction. That poor decision aside, the match was a success at giving eight women TV time and letting several of them shine a little.
