7 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Raw (24 June - Results & Review)

UPS…

7. FINALLY

Judgment Day Liv Morgan
WWE

Eleven weeks.

Awesome Truth’s feel-good story of winning the WWE World Tag Team Championship should have lasted no more than 11 days, just long enough to bask in the post-WrestleMania glow before dropping the straps to a more serious team to lend credibility to the newly separated titles.

Instead, the comedy duo held the titles for 11-plus weeks, successfully defending them in true banana peel fashion, which only made the problem worse. Truth kept being tricked into agreeing to title matches, to Miz’s chagrin, but then they’d figure out a way to luck into a win. It was a recipe for maximum groans – and also wild cheers from fans in arenas, proving there’s sometimes a disconnect between witnessing an act live versus watching on TV.

That luck ran out Monday night when Awesome Truth finally dropped the titles to Judgment Day – with help from Liv Morgan. The match itself was average at best, and the result was the correct one, so this will get a tepid “up” because the titles at least have a chance to be defended in straight wrestling matches and no longer are props for a comic relief act.
