7 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Raw (6 May - Results & Review)

6. Mending Fences

Judgment Day
WWE

After weeks of dissension and teased chaos, the Judgment Day reined in their squabbles Monday night, seemingly patching things up.

The group looked like they were coming apart at the seams at Backlash France, with Damian Priest lashing out at JD McDonagh and Finn Balor for interfering in his match. During the show-opening promo Monday night, Finn apologized again, which Damian accepted – and then promptly apologized himself for losing his cool at his brothers coming to his defense to save his title reign.

This more than likely is just a temporary truce, but it served an actual purpose: Priest presumably would emerge from a Judgment Day split as a babyface, but his lashing out has looked more heelish than probably intended. Damian pulling back and making nice was an effort to reset things a bit and show him to be capable of mending fences, which will put him in a better position for the breakup.

If nothing else, it was good to spend a week without the group that purportedly “runs Monday Night Raw” falling apart and looking like cartoonish goofs.

He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
