7 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Raw (May 16)

1. Becky’s Descent Continues

It’s safe to say that regardless of changes that Sasha Banks and Naomi’s walkout caused with the booking Monday night, Becky Lynch’s overall trajectory wasn’t going to change.

Lynch has been spiralling since WrestleMania 38, when she lost the Raw Women’s Championship, becoming more delusional and paranoid, so naturally, she lost her shot at becoming #1 contender for the title when an attempt to cheat backfired and she lost to rival Asuka.

The Empress of Tomorrow countered Becky’s attempted umbrella attack with green mist, blinding Lynch and allowing Asuka to knock her out and pick up the win. The match itself was all action and a solid TV main event, though it unfortunately felt rushed and wasn’t able to be advertised in advance.

Still, given the circumstances, we’ve got to give this passing marks. And Bianca Belair versus Asuka in a real PLE matchup should be gold.
