7 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Oct 14)

1. Leave Them Wanting More

Man, Bray was emotional on Friday night.

He's either one heck of an actor or he was actually feeling it as he addressed a WWE crowd for the first time since returning at Extreme Rules. Whatever the case, Wyatt's show-closing promo worked out well and gave a glimpse into the fragility of his "this is the real me" character.

The masked man who popped up on the tron to fire out a warning shot raised some compelling questions too. Wyatt battling his inner demons could be fun provided it doesn't turn into a dreary retread of that SummerSlam 1994 clanger between The Undertaker and "The Underfaker", or even Kane vs. Kane.

Like with Liv Morgan's skit earlier, yours truly is willing to give WWE the benefit of the doubt here until the story develops. If nothing else, Bray's promo and the masked character's threats did furnish SmackDown with a cliffhanger-style finish.

People want to see what's going to happen next, and that's never a bad thing.
