5. Cody Destroys Corbin

Now that is a perfect way to use a down-and-out Baron Corbin.

After getting dumped by JBL last week, Corbin was bound to get a chance to weigh in on the latest development. In a clever little nod, he was brushed off and his interview postponed for “something important,” which was Sami Zayn in the ring. Once that segment was over, they returned to the interview, where Baron ranted and raved, then trashed Cody Rhodes (and his family)… who just happened to be coming back through gorilla and overheard the comments.

Cue a brawl, with Rhodes demanding that a ref follow them out to the ring so he could beat him in a match, which he did in short order. It was a perfect burial of the spiraling Corbin, and it continued Cody’s momentum with a convincing win once again.

Simple and effective. Sometimes that’s all you need. Had this gone on a minute longer or Baron landed a Deep 6, we might have had a different opinion. It didn’t, so we’re good here.
