7 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (Dec 6)

6. Need To Do More With Priest

On the one hand, it’s great to see Damian Priest pick up another decisive victory defending his United States Championship. That should be praised.

However, Priest also has been getting TV time without any huge purpose. He hasn’t had a sustained program or rivalry, and he really isn’t getting much of a chance to grow his character – save for those ridiculous facial expressions when he lets the “Damian” out and goes berserk.

The open challenge is a good thing to continue, but even when John Cena was doing that, he got time on the mic to fire up the crowd, and that challenge led to some nice little feuds, like Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins.

Beating Robert Roode is fine, and sure, it looks like Dolph Ziggler will square off against Priest next week, but it would be nice to do more to develop his persona and rally fans behind him. Bad Bunny is a distant memory now, so Damian needs to give fans more of a reason to cheer him on.
