7 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE SummerSlam 2022

Downs...

6. Judgment Day Look Like Losers

WWE SummerSlam 2022 Edge Rey Dominik Mysterio

Oh wow.

Judgment Day has been wobbling big time ever since Finn Bálor replaced Edge as the group's leader, but WWE might've just squished them flat at SummerSlam. Losing to Rey and Dominik Mysterio, even with Edge's return and help, leaves the threesome with absolutely nowhere to go.

Honestly, creative might be better off just ending this now, because JD isn't even helping to elevate Damian Priest or Rhea Ripley anymore. Both looked better whilst sitting under Edge's learning tree, but Bálor has been booked as a leader who's weaker than he supposedly was - the story doesn't make any sense.

In retrospect, Edge shouldn't have been supplanted by Finn at all. His return fell a little flat too, largely 'cause...well, who wants to see this six-man tag WWE are surely planning anyway? Judgment Day carry no threat, and Saturday made that clear.
