7 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE SummerSlam 2022

4. Theory Becomes Less-Than

Speaking of chemistry.

Bobby Lashley and Theory showed they had it by the bucketload at Money In The Bank. There, the duo pieced together a worthwhile United States Title showdown that made a rematch logical. Come SummerSlam though, they didn't produce anything resembling a worthy follow-up.

In fact, the match kinda made Theory look less-than, which is unfortunate when he's holding the MITB briefcase and is supposed to be a future World Champ. Nothing about this short, one-sided showing made Theory look like someone who could credibly cash in on top names like Roman Reigns or Brock Lesnar.

It's fine to make Theory look like an opportunistic coward every now and then, but to make him seem like he's way in over his head this often? Come on now, WWE. Lashley may as well have been wrestling some no-name jobber out there, and that's a pity.
