7 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE SummerSlam 2022

2. Too Little, Too Late!

Meanwhile, this came too late.

Ronda's heel turn should've happened at Money In The Bank, or at least on SmackDown before WWE reached SummerSlam. The promotion has wrecked this story by refusing to pull the trigger earlier, and by painting the reigning champion (Liv) as somebody who's out of her depth.

Prediction: Rousey's heel turn will fail, because she'll be 100% justified when she starts bitching about screwy finishes. The ref counted her down when Morgan had already tapped out - technically, she should be champion again. Yeah, this writer is struggling to see what's so heelish about pointing that out.

Add in the fact that Ronda isn't exactly comfortable on the mic and this is a recipe for disaster. She's gonna have a tough time selling herself a heel when everyone can see that Morgan doesn't deserve to hold the title. What a weird way to book things.
