7 Ups & 8 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Jan 21)

3. Champion's Summit

As soon as Tessa Blanchard won the World Championship from Sami Callihan at Hard To Kill, you just knew there would be a boatload of people wanting to end her reign. Not just because she was the main champion of the promotion, but because her reign was simply the most historic in Impact history.

'The Undeniable One' attempted to call out the former champ this week, seeing as the oVe member isn't done with her quite yet. However, she was instead met by the Knockouts Champion Taya Valkyrie and then the X Division Champion Ace Austin. 'Wera Loca' seemed to believe that the only history-maker in Impact was herself, while 'The One True Ace' was seemingly only there to gloat about how he won the X Division Championship at Bound For Glory as opposed to Tessa.

With a fight breaking out, Trey would rush out to even the odds, planting the seeds for the evening's main event. It was a simple and easy way to set up the mixed tag at the end of the night, putting Impact's three singles champions in there alongside one of the top X division performers. It could only mean good things for the rest of the show.
