7 Ups & 8 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Jan 21)

4. Not A Fan, Rob?

In 2020, Rob Van Dam is his own biggest fan. He constantly claims that every other wrestler stole his arsenal, and will always find a reason to boast about the fact he has two girlfriends in the form of Katie Forbes and Jennifer, who was nowhere to be seen here. Considering what happened when she showed up last week, that's probably for the best.

'The Whole F'N Show' seemingly wasn't a fan of Joey Ryan's match with Maximo, insisting that if a wrestler tried to create their own moves as opposed to taking his, then all they can come up with is manoeuvres such as the D*ck Flip. While this is, in a way, a fair comment from RVD, what was the point in it?

There's no reason as to why Van Dam would single out Joey. If anything, 'The King of Dong Style' is the exact opposite of what Rob claims - his moveset couldn't be more different if it tried. It's not like Joey is one of the biggest names on the Impact roster either, so if this little snippet backstage is supposed to be leading to a full-blown rivalry between the pair, then it wouldn't particularly help either man in the long run.
