WWE call the 'Road To WrestleMania' a bumpy one. 2022 proved they weren't kidding!

The biggest weekend of WWE's entire year is upon us.

Everything, stretching right back to the tail-end of 2021 through until January's Royal Rumble and another jaunt over to Saudi Arabia for Elimination Chamber, has led to this. Big announcements, like the return of Steve Austin and 'Winner Takes All' title bouts, have been tempered by sadness elsewhere - Big E's fall from grace has been as sobering as it has been painful, for example.

So, how did WWE do? Was the 'Road To WrestleMania' as "stupendous" as Vince McMahon would like to claim, or was it bumpier than a Ronda Rousey promo? Are the expected main events going to smash it on the grand stage, or are they let down by a lacklustre undercard that really needed some more focus?

There are loads of questions.

There's no better time than right before 'Mania 38 to look back on WWE's build towards the two-night pay-per-view (sorry, "premium live event"). The creative team covered a lot of ground, and made a lot of good/bad decisions along the way.
