7 Ups & 9 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (April 2)
2. Randy, AJ, & Kevin
Last night's edition of the Kevin Owens Show successfully highlighted everything that works about KO, AJ Styles, and Randy Orton's current characters.
Owens played his charismatic host role well, and continued his recent theme of bailing out before things got hot. Having said "peace out" to Becky Lynch and Charlotte on his last segment, Big Kev did the same thing here, making a silent retreat before Styles and Orton tore the place up.
'The Viper' was great as the entitled WWE veteran. He once again slaughtered AJ for spending so much time on wrestling's smaller stages, sh*tting on all the hard work he'd put in to make a name for himself in the business, noting that he'd been competing on 'The Grandest Stage Of Them All.' Hooray for d*ck measuring.
Styles had the sharpest line, though, turning Orton's indie wrestling barb against him by saying that while he was working high school gyms in front of dozens of people, "Randy was in WWE getting suspended for failing drug tests." Cue: more back-and-forth bantering, before the duo stood up, faced off, and ruined the set, with Orton turning a Phenomenal Forearm into a mid-air RKO to stand tall in the end.
