7 Ups & 9 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (April 2)

3. A Fun Eight-Man Tag

While the booking that followed SmackDown's eight-man tag was a big slice of nonsense, the bout itself was good, with both sides working a fast, fluid, and action-packed layout that shone a light on the right people heading into WrestleMania 35.

The heel side largely kept things grounded. The Bar began by trying to grind down on Aleister Black and Ricochet, who countered with trademark quickness, before Rusev and Shinsuke Nakamura entered the fray, slowing the pace even more. Things unfolded thereafter. The big spots came through the babyface unit, with The Usos getting extra-hot leading into a closing stretch that started as a signature move shootout, before Jey tagged in, him and Jimmy double-Superkicked Rusev, and scored the pinfall.

Scambles like this are usually fun, and a group of wrestlers as talented as these eight will always deliver when given enough time. These 11 minutes weren't berserk, but they were exciting, and that's about all we can ask for from such situations.
