2. The Year's Dumbest Match

Last night SmackDown presented a bout marketed as "the biggest intergender tag team match ever," with 18 directionless blue brand midcarders thrown together at the same time as a means of getting them on television and remind viewers that the WrestleMania battle royals do, indeed, exist. What followed was an irredeemable sack of sh*t.

These 10 minutes were God-awful. The bout was as messy as you'd imagine, with nobody (even Nikki Cross, who was given a generous amount of ring time) able to stand out in the stramash. Cross and Zelina Vega did stuff. Lacey Evans did a thing. EC3 and The Hardys messed around a little bit. Heavy Machinery came into the ring and did Heavy Machinery things, with Otis getting super pervy on Mandy Rose. Post-break, Naomi existed, Carmella and R-Truth danced, and it came to a no contest.

The only good thing about this slab of unwatchable dreck was the post-match, in which Asuka dumped Jeff Hardy over the top rope to a big pop. The downside to this is that she definitely isn't winning the WrestleMania women's battle royal. 50/50 booking, brother.
