7 Ups & 9 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (April 2)

3. Sanity Are Jobbers Now?

Regular SmackDown Ups & Downs readers know that this writer is no fan of the Sanity gimmick. It's as corny as it is cringe-worthy, actively undermining a trio of talented performers who could be significant SmackDown players with a different approach. Regardless, they deserve better than the past couple of weeks.

Destroyed as part of Shane McMahon's procession of dorks marching on The Miz last week, they were handily defeated by 'The A-Lister' in last night's handicap scrap. It took Miz less than 10 minutes. That's woefully inept, even by their lowly kayfabe standards.

Heels always look like dirt when they come up short in a handicap bout, and it's even worse when there's three of them. Eric Young is a cunning, crafty scrapper. Alexander Wolfe is as unhinged as he is unpredictable. Killian Dain, meanwhile, is supposed to be a beast, and is legitimately one of the most three-dimensional big men in the game. Now, each of them is about as much use as Curt Hawkins.

All this bullsh*t betrays their characters, too. Why is this chaotic counter-culture group doing a pseudo-authority figure's building?

Another layer of nonsense for this garbage angle.
