7 Ups And 1 Down From NXT: The Great American Bash 2

2. Great Amerian Bash

This is why you can't have it both ways. An incredible main-event, a history-making result, a star being born in front of our eyes, a worthy addition to the storied lineage of this event's astonishing past. Not something you're ever going to see on a normal Wednesday night, but something that felt perfectly in keeping with The Great American Bash.

At 400 odd days, Adam Cole has beaten all-comers. Gargano, Ciampa, Balor, Riddle, Dream, Dunne, even Daniel Bryan, by hook or by crook he's had too much for all of them. The matches, universally and almost predictably, have been excellent. If he's not already considered the brand's greatest champion then he's comfortably in the top 1.

But what we got with Kieth Lee here was a resumption of the incredible momentum he had at the turn of the year. A man who hits harder than men twice his weight, and flies around with more grace than men half his weight, there's virtually no wrestler on the planet as compelling to watch when he's in full flow. However, if you're ever in any doubt of how good Adam Cole really is, consider the fact that despite all of that he didn't once feel out of his depth.

A staggering Panama Sunrise from Cole gave us a heart-stopping near fall, before Lee hit the Big Bang Catastrophe for a stunning win. This is everything these two men can bring to the table, and everything NXT is capable of delivering. A fitting end for both the stature of the show, and Cole's superlative title reign. Wonderful.
