7 Ups And 1 Down From NXT: The Great American Bash 2

1. In The Krosshairs

It's nice to be wrong.

By quietly moving Karion Kross away from the title picture just as we began this story, the stage looked set for his explosive arrival in the main-event scene. There was no way NXT was actually going to crown one man as both NXT and North American Champion, so having Kross interfere at the culmination of an otherwise incredible contest made more than a lick of sense. He'd be "making a statement", right?

In the end though he was nowhere to be seen during the match itself, and the decisive finish we were afforded gave us one of the greatest moments in the brand's entire history. However the camera pull at the end revealed that he'd been watching all along, marking him out as a mouth-watering first opponent for either man.

Sure, he can go after Kieth Lee and all the gold he's now carrying, but who's to say that the timer Scarlett placed at Adam Cole's feet was to do with his championship, he might just be after his blood. Either way, Kross vs Lee or Kross vs Cole is enough to set pulses racing, and huge credit to NXT for not merely using that prospect as a way to cover booking a non-finish.
