7 Ups And 10 Downs From WWE Fastlane 2019

3. Keeping Kofi Down

While the use of the Evil Vince McMahon is worthy of criticism, the positive here is that Kofi Kingston is quickly becoming the 2019 version of 2014 Daniel Bryan, where fans are nearly rapid in their support of a babyface for a world title shot.

Kingston was summoned to McMahon’s office about the WWE Championship match, only to find out it was being made into a triple threat, and Kofi’s match was next. What happened next was classic bait-and-switch, as Kingston wasn’t booked in the title match, but a handicap match against The Bar, which he lost.

Then the triple threat went down with Mustafa Ali getting the third slot, and fans chanted, “We want Kofi!” throughout the match, clearly showing that they were firmly behind the 11-year veteran.

Hopefully, all of this is building to a happy ending at WrestleMania 35, because if not, we might see fans lose their marbles.
